Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Welding Assistant to join our manufacturing team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop technical skills in welding, machining, and manufacturing processes. The Welding Assistant will support the welding team by preparing materials, assisting with equipment operation, and ensuring quality standards are met. Responsibilities
- Assist welders with setup and operation of welding equipment, including plasma cutting and CNC laser cutting machines
- Support machining processes such as CNC milling, CNC lathe, and press brake operations
- Use hand tools and calipers for measuring and assembly tasks to ensure precision
- Read blueprints and mechanical drawings to facilitate accurate fabrication and assembly
- Perform quality inspections to verify adherence to specifications and standards
- Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and cranes safely when necessary
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency
- Support the manufacturing process through basic math calculations for measurements and material estimations
Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of welding techniques and manufacturing processes
- Experience or familiarity with CNC programming, CNC milling machines, CNC laser cutting, plasma cutting, or CNC lathe is preferred
- Ability to operate hand tools, calipers, and other machining equipment effectively
- Mechanical knowledge with an understanding of blueprint reading and assembly procedures
- Experience with material handling equipment such as forklifts and cranes is a plus
- Strong attention to detail for quality inspection tasks
- Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations
- Prior experience in manufacturing or machining environments is advantageous
