The Clinical Informatician -Pharmacy CDPD is an integral part of the Centralized Drug Production and Distribution (CDPD) project team and will work closely with the Director, Central Production and the Manager, Distribution Optimization, to plan and deliver key technology requirements such as those related to a Warehouse Management System (WMS) for implementation in both the North and South Sector Central Production Facilities (located in Edmonton and Calgary respectively) and potentially some or all of the Hub sites (Grande Prairie, Fort McMurray, Red Deer, Medicine Hat and Lethbridge). Providing subject matter expertise, the incumbent will have responsibility for procurement, design, optimization and integration of a WMS with existing clinical information (EPIC), and procurement and inventory (Oracle) systems, ensuring best practice. This will involve delivering solutions that align WMS functionality and future state Pharmacy processes, including compliance with policy, regulatory and legislative requirements.
As a Clinical Informatician, you will lead or participate in the customization, development, implementation, management, evaluation, and continuous improvement of clinical information systems. You will develop and deploy information and systems solutions, drawing on expert clinical experience, and knowledge from their health discipline. Working in the field of Clinical Health Informatics will require you to incorporate the application of information technology to facilitate the creation and use of health related data, informatics aspects of safe, efficient, and effective health services for all Canadians.

Completion of bachelor's degree in a health related field. Active registration with the applicable professional association or college.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Pharmacist degree or Pharmacy Technician diploma. Active license/registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy. 5 years’ experience in hospital pharmacy operations. Demonstrated creative and critical thinking, innovation focused, change orientated individual with strong logical reasoning skills. Demonstrated communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, organizational and problem solving skills. Demonstrated time management skills and adaptability when priorities are required to change. Demonstrated ability to be able to work both independently and cooperatively in a team environment.
Membership with pharmacy advocacy groups (PTSA, RxA, CSHP, CAPT, etc.). Prior work on large-scale project(s). Technology knowledge and aptitude: Experience with EPIC and/or other systems, Oracle, WMS, prior programming knowledge. Prior work on implementation of major IT project. Prior work with RFP development.
