Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Metal Roofing Labourer to join our construction team. This role involves assisting with the installation and maintenance of metal roofing systems on various commercial and residential projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to safety, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Prior experience in construction or carpentry is preferred, along with familiarity with hand tools and blueprint reading.
Duties
- Assist in the installation, repair, and maintenance of metal roofing systems on-site
- Use hand tools such as hammers, drills, and saws to cut, shape, and secure roofing materials
- Perform heavy lifting of materials and equipment safely and efficiently
- Follow blueprints and technical drawings to ensure accurate installation
- Apply caulking and sealants to ensure waterproofing and durability of roofing structures
- Support carpentry tasks related to framing or structural adjustments as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects on schedule and to quality standards
Skills
- Proficiency with hand tools commonly used in construction and roofing projects
- Experience in construction or carpentry work is highly desirable
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Knowledge of caulking techniques for weatherproofing applications
- Physical strength for heavy lifting and prolonged standing or working at heights
- Handyman experience is a plus, demonstrating versatility across various tasks
- Strong attention to safety procedures and teamwork skills
