Are you a patient-focused person with excellent clinical skills looking for a new role? PulseAir Heart & Lungs Center is presently recruiting candidates with a Kinesiology & Physiology degree or RN's for the role of Cardio Pulmonary and Sleep Technologist.
The Role:
Are you a patient focused Pulmonary Function Technologist or Cardiopulmonary Technologist with excellent clinical skills looking for a new role? We are hiring 1 permanent full-time position which focuses on PFT testing in our busy clinic in South Edmonton. We will be training the chosen candidate to either challenge the CACPT PFT Exam and gain CPT credentials OR to challenge the CPSGT sleep exam and provide excellent patient care to CPAP users.
The Responsibilities Include:
- Prepare PFT testing rooms for the day including calibrations
- Greets checked-in patients in a friendly and professional manner from the waiting room
- Screen patients for PFT contraindications, confirming the patient’s responses on the PFT intake questionnaire
- Confers with patient in treatment room to explain test procedures.
- Performs Pulmonary-Function testing using V-Max system
- Monitor patients comfort and safety while conducting testing
- Complete PFT reports, ensure accuracy of testing procedures
- Perform quality assurance procedures as per manual
- Communications with the Pulmonologist on duty
- Process interpreted tests
- Scanning and linking patient documents into charts and auditing to ensure accuracy.
- Maintains work areas in a clean and orderly condition and ensures the testing rooms are properly supplied and operational at all times.
- Maintains patient privacy and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
- Works with an interdisciplinary team and other support staff to provide optimal patient care.
Qualifications:
- Graduated with a Kinesiology or certified Cardiopulmonary program or Registered Nurse
- Certified as a CACPT Technologist or equivalent credential.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills and excellent multitasking Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Criminal Record Check
- Ability to work well independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to be flexible to respond to an ever-changing environment and to the business needs
- Detail oriented, good planning and organizational skills
- Schedule: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday, potential weekend availability if staff are available.
