Join a Growing Manufacturing Team
Are you a skilled Journeyman Electrician looking for a stable, long-term opportunity where you can make a meaningful impact? We are seeking a proactive and safety-focused Electrician to join our maintenance team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
This role offers the opportunity to work with modern industrial equipment, automation systems, PLCs, motors, conveyors, and production machinery while contributing directly to operational reliability and continuous improvement initiatives.
Schedule & Compensation
- Two-week rotating schedule (Days & Afternoons)
- Additional $1.50/hour shift premium on afternoon shifts
- Full-time, permanent position
- Opportunities to contribute to equipment upgrades, automation projects, and plant improvements
What You'll Do
As a Journeyman Electrician, you will play a key role in keeping our production equipment operating safely and efficiently. Your responsibilities will include:
- Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing industrial electrical systems and equipment.
- Performing preventative and predictive maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Maintaining and repairing motors, conveyors, control panels, PLC systems, switchgear, and automated machinery.
- Reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, electrical drawings, and technical documents.
- Installing, modifying, and commissioning new equipment and electrical systems.
- Monitoring equipment performance and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Working closely with Production, Operations, and Maintenance teams to optimize plant performance.
- Fabricating and repairing components as required using shop equipment.
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records and documenting repairs and improvements.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization projects.
- Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with electrical codes, company standards, and safety regulations.
- Following Lockout/Tagout procedures and promoting a strong safety culture throughout the facility.
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Valid Journeyman Electrician Certification.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with:
- PLC systems and ladder logic
- Electric motors and motor controls
- Industrial automation equipment
- Switchgear, transformers, and control systems
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and electrical code requirements.
- Strong understanding of preventive maintenance programs.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks with minimal supervision.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Preferred Experience
- Experience making minor PLC program modifications.
- Online PLC troubleshooting and diagnostics.
- Machining, fabrication, welding, and equipment rebuilding experience.
- Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- WHMIS and workplace safety training.
