Our client in Kitchener is looking for an experienced Millwright to join their team in a full-time permanent role!

Hours on day shift from 7:00am-3:30pm
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Millwright is responsible for installing, assembling, dismantling, and cleaning machinery, conveyor systems, pulleys, mechanical clutches, gear boxes, hydraulic and pneumatic control systems.
- Transport and locate machines and equipment to the desired location as directed using fork lifts, hoists, winches, cranes and other equipment.
- Disassemble & assemble machines or equipment from their component parts.
- The Millwright must understand how a machine functions to assemble and disassemble it properly; this may involve knowledge of electronics, pneumatics, and computer systems.
- The Millwright will use complex instruction books that detail the assembly of the machinery and use tools such as levels, welding machines, and torque wrenches.
- The Millwright uses micrometers and other precision measuring devices to achieve the extreme tolerances required and determine appropriate fits for bearings and seals.
- On large projects, the use of cranes is common.
- Other items deemed necessary by management.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Three(3) years or more of documented experience as a Millwright/Industrial mechanic, preferably in a machine shop.
- Millwright License and journey-level skill and knowledge as a Millwright/Industrial mechanic.
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- Basic knowledge of mathematics, algebra and physics
- Ability to provide mechanical support to locate and diagnose trouble in mechanical systems or equipment
- Ability to complete required preventive maintenance at defined intervals on all mechanical equipment
- Ability to work from layout plans, blueprints, drawings or other specifications to determine work procedures
- Ability and knowledge to dismantle machines, using hammers, wrenches, crowbars and other hand tools
- Ability and knowledge in welding including arc, acetylene and hydrogen
- Ability to properly move machinery and equipment, using hoists, dollies, rollers and trucks
- Ability and knowledge to properly use tools and equipment such as drill presses, power saws, chain falls, jacks, skids, slings, burning torches, and other types of portable and hand tools
- Ability, with or without reasonable accommodation, to work overtime, including daily, weekends and holidays as required
- Perform other duties as required to meet the needs of the Company
- Must have own tools
- Centrifuge experience is an asset
- Communication skills with supervisor, engineer, and peers.
- Shop Safety knowledge.
