Canada Wide Media, home to prestigious publications such as Vancouver Magazine, Western Living, and BC Business, is seeking a highly driven Senior Media Specialist to join our team. As one of Canada’s largest independent media companies, we are known for delivering premium content, top-tier events, and exceptional advertising solutions across print, digital, and event platforms.In this pivotal role, the Senior Media Specialist (reporting to the Vice President of Sales) will manage an existing portfolio of high-profile clients while aggressively pursuing new business opportunities. This individual will be responsible for driving advertising sales and securing sponsorship deals for signature events like Power 50, Top 100, Vancouver Restaurant Awards, and Designers of the Year.This role requires someone with a polished, professional demeanor who excels at relationship management and business development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advertising Sales: Drive both print and digital advertising sales for our flagship suite of publications, Vancouver Magazine, Western Living, and BC Business; consistently meeting and exceeding revenue targets.
- Event Sponsorship Sales & Support: Identify and secure sponsorship deals for high-profile events such as Power 50, Top 100, Vancouver Restaurant Awards, and Designers of the Year. Assist with event execution, ensuring sponsor branding and activation spaces meet expectations.
- Manage and Grow Client Relationships: Maintain and enhance existing client accounts by understanding their needs, offering tailored solutions, and ensuring long-term satisfaction.
- Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, leveraging your sales and relationship expertise to expand our client base.
- Networking & Client Engagement: Confidently meet and greet clients at events and in person, for both sales pitches and relationship-building.
- Strategic Sales Leadership: Execute strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets, including crafting persuasive proposals and delivering impactful presentations.
- Proposal Development: Craft and present compelling advertising sales proposals that clearly articulate the value of partnering with the company.
- Collaboration and Integration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated sales and marketing solutions that align with client objectives and company goals.
- Results-Driven Focus: Consistently meet or exceed sales targets and KPIs, contributing to the overall success and growth of the company.·
- Stay Ahead of the Curve: Constantly push the envelope, bringing fresh ideas to the table and staying ahead in this growth industry.·
- Travel Requirements: This role involves regular travel within the Vancouver area for client meetings and industry events. A personal vehicle is required for this position.
Qualifications:·
- Experience: Minimum of 4+ years in media sales, advertising, or business development with a proven track record of exceeding revenue targets and growing client portfolios.·
- Skills: Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills with the ability to create compelling proposals and foster long-term client relationships. Experience in selling across print, digital, and event sponsorship platforms is a strong asset.·
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred, though equivalent experience in media sales is highly valued.·

Salary: $70,000.00-$75,000.00 per year + Uncapped Commission
