Duties
- Manage daily body shop operations, including scheduling, workflow coordination, and resource allocation to maximize productivity.
- Supervise technicians and support staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to foster a motivated and skilled team.
- Ensure all repairs meet quality standards by inspecting work, adhering to safety protocols, and maintaining compliance with industry regulations.
- Oversee the use of hand tools, power tools, and heavy lifting equipment to facilitate efficient repairs while prioritizing safety.
- Collaborate with insurance adjusters and customers to communicate repair timelines, costs, and expectations transparently.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts inventory, and labor hours for reporting and billing purposes.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement by implementing best practices in automotive repair processes.
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing an automotive collision repair shop
- Proficient in using Mitchell estimating software to prepare and review repair estimates
Skills
- Proven dealership or automotive service center management experience with a strong understanding of collision repair workflows.
- Mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems and familiarity with automotive repair procedures.
- Hands-on experience using hand tools, power tools, and heavy lifting equipment safely and effectively.
- Mechanic experience or background in automotive repair enhances ability to oversee technical work confidently.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and foster a positive work environment.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with staff, customers, insurance representatives, and vendors.
- Ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail.
- Valid drivers license
