Atlantic Cultivation is a premium Canadian cannabis cultivator located in St. John's, NL. We operate a world class, state-of the-art, indoor cannabis production facility where we cultivate cannabis using top feed drip hydroponics. In addition, through its 100% owed subsidiary, Atlantic Cannabis, operates 8 cannabis retail stores throughout Newfoundland & Labrador.

Overview
Reporting to and partnering with the executive team, the chief financial officer (CFO) will play a critical role in developing and implementing the financial and business strategy of Atlantic Cultivation. As a member of the executive team, the CFO will be an advisor to the Board of Directors, evaluating and assisting them with their financial plans and supporting the corporate strategy. The CFO will be responsible for overseeing all fiscal and fiduciary responsibilities for the organization.
All facets of our organization operate around our core values; the CFO is responsible for aligning financial policies and functions with ACL's core values.
Job Duties and Responsibilities

As a member of the executive team and an adviser to the board, support the development and implement the overall business strategy.

Provide executive leadership to the company's finance function.

Create, coordinate, and evaluate the financial programs of the company.

Mitigate risk related to financial health and company performance.

Ensure compliance with local, provincial, and federal reporting requirements.

Interact with other leaders to provide consultative support to planning initiatives through strategic, financial and management information analyses, reports, and recommendations.

Establish and implement short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures..

Develop tools and systems to provide critical financial and operational information to the CEO and executive team to make actionable recommendations on both strategy and operations.

Oversee long-term budgetary planning and costs management in alignment with Atlantic Cultivation's strategic plan.

Optimize the handling of key business partners such as banks, insurers and benefits providers.

Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate department staff.

Performs other responsibilities as necessary.
Key Qualifications & Abilities
Education & Experience
- 10+ years of diverse, senior leadership experience gained primarily in a similar dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) Designation.

Bachelor's Degree (MBA) preferred in an accounting, business or a finance-related discipline.

Excellent knowledge of financing, forecasting and working closely with financial institutions.

Proven experience as a CFO considered an asset.

Effective skills in strategic planning, departmental management and business analysis.

Job Specifics

Normal hours are Mon to Fri, 830-430. Occasional OT may be required to complete priority work tasks.

Incumbent must be able to report for work at our facility located on Captain Prim Drive in St. John's.

Must be able to clear a Criminal Record Check.
