The Medical Office Assistant is responsible for assisting in the smooth running of the office. The ideal candidate has an eye for detail, is highly organized and able to work well under pressure. This individual will also be responsible for scheduling appointments, greeting patients, and answering incoming calls. Proficiency in MS Office is a must, as well as experience with scheduling appointments, working in a fast-paced environment and experience in a medical setting.
Responsibilities:
- Must have strong communication, time-management and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a face paced environment and manage priorities accordingly
- Greet patients and visitors in a professional and welcoming manner
- Schedule patient appointments and follow-up visits
- Answer phones and respond to emails in a timely manner from patients and medical staff
- Update client information into scheduling system when changes are required
- Accurately provides clients information related to the clinic and the products and services we provide
- Prepare patient forms and necessary documentation for insurance companies.File patient records accurately on electronic system and documents accordingly
- Ensures confidentiality of all personal health information
- Perform general office duties such as photocopying, faxing documents etc
- Performs other duties as assigned from time-to-time by management
