Job Description:
As an Experienced AZ Driver at NAM Rentals, you will play a crucial role in transporting heavy equipment safely and efficiently to various job sites within the GTA. Your extensive experience will ensure timely deliveries while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate heavy-duty vehicles, including tractor-trailers, to transport equipment such as scissor lifts, skid steers, boom lifts, etc.
- Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Load and unload heavy equipment using proper techniques and equipment.
- Plan efficient driving routes to ensure timely deliveries and communicate any delays to dispatch.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and other required documentation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding delivery schedules and equipment status.
- Adapt to changing conditions, troubleshoot equipment issues, and find alternative routes when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with all Department of Transportation (DOT) rules, regulations, and company policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Valid AZ driver's license, permitting the operation of vehicles with a towed weight exceeding 4,600 kilograms (10,000 lbs), including heavy-duty trucks and trailers.
- Clean driving record with no major violations or accidents.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an AZ driver.
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to transportation regulations.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Exceptional planning and organizational abilities.
- Ability to adapt to changing conditions, troubleshoot equipment issues, and find alternative routes when necessary.
- Dependability and punctuality in meeting delivery schedules.
- Physical capability to handle manual tasks, including bending, twisting, and repetitive motions, as well as lifting up to 50 lbs when required.
