The Parts Person is responsible for managing parts inventory and the purchasing and distribution of equipment parts, fuel, lubricants, and supplies for the head office and divisional shops, plants and crew work sites. Additionally, this role is responsible for the tracking and data entry of invoices and preventative maintenance information.

Purchase parts and supplies at the request of managers, superintendents, mechanics, and plant operators.

Shop and compare the prices of parts, fuels, lubricants and other necessary items across vendors, ensuring quality parts are purchased at the best available price.

Input invoices after purchase orders are received and accounted for.

Input purchase orders for parts, equipment, or supply requests.

Input preventative maintenance events.

Assist in the loading and unloading of parts from delivery vehicles, using loader when needed.

Assist in delivering or picking up parts, vehicles and equipment when needed, or schedule the delivery or pick up of parts, vehicles and equipment where necessary.

Promote, execute, and adhere to the company’s safety program, and encourage all employees, sub-contractors, and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.

Work with Safety Department to investigate damage, incidents or near misses in the worksite, and ensure proper procedures are carried out according to the Company’s Safety Program.

Work in a safe, responsible manner to not intentionally or unintentionally injure oneself, or endanger the wellbeing of others.

High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Journeyman Parts Technician trade ticket preferred.

Class 5 Drivers License required.

Certification in Skid Steer, Overhead Crane and Standard First Aid, preferred.

Knowledge of equipment parts and road construction equipment.

Knowledge of JD Edwards and Mircosoft Office applications.

4 years; experience in an equipment shop.

Overtime as required.

Work is primarily performed in an indoor setting, which could include standing for long periods of time, manual dexterity, and exposure to blue light and dust and fumes.

Work may be performed in an outdoor setting which may include inclement weather, heat and humidity.

Overnight travel may be required on rare occasion.
- Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50 LBS on a regular basis.

Use of Personal Protection Equipment is required.

Must comply with the company’s drug and alcohol testing requirements.
