O’Hanlon Paving is looking for an enthusiastic, experienced Purchaser to work in a full-time capacity, in our Mechanical Shop based in Acheson, AB. In this position, you will process materials, goods and service requisitions to meet the needs of the business, and act as the liaison between the business and the Supplier and ensures that all technical, commercial and financial requirements are met.

Responsibilities:
Initiate, develop and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external customers and vendors;
Effectively support the business through sourcing, vendor qualifying, and purchasing while ensuring adherence to the corporate policies and processes;
Create and manage open purchase orders and revisions for parts, inventory, materials and services;
Monitor supplier performance, ensuring on time delivery, expediting, and performing periodic quality and compliance audits;
Address non-conforming material, return for credit, and core credits via RMA or RGM; Coordinate parts pick-up and deliveries to meet the changing needs of the business;
Participate in companywide strategic initiatives, processes and directives with respect to Procurement;
Collaborate with functional business teams and establish key requirements to help identify cost reductions and better buying practices;
Identify research and resolve invoicing issues between internal finance teams and vendors;
Identify and help reduce redundant P2P task, effort and rework; and Complete additional duties and projects as required for success.

Qualifications:
University degree or diploma in Supply Chain, or related discipline will be an asset
2 years’ experience purchasing and general knowledge of construction, industrial or mechanical parts purchasing
Intermediate to advance abilities in MS Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and related software system;
Ability to take initiative, think logically and complete detailed work with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality;
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, problem-solving skills Excellent written and oral communication skills along with the ability to be flexible to changing priorities;
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, problem-solving skills;
Ability to thrive under pressure, multi-task, and identify “sense of urgency” scenarios;
Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently with little supervision;
Strong inclination towards process improvement and innovation; and
Possession of a valid class 5 driver’s license or above, with access to a reliable vehicle
