Overview
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dog Groomer to join our pet care team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with animals and a keen eye for grooming details. This role involves providing high-quality grooming services that ensure dogs look and feel their best, while delivering excellent customer service to pet owners. Duties
- Bathing, drying, and brushing dogs of various breeds and sizes using appropriate grooming tools and techniques
- Trimming, clipping, and styling fur according to breed standards or customer preferences
- Cleaning ears, trimming nails, and expressing glands as needed to maintain pet health and comfort
- Communicating with pet owners to understand grooming preferences and provide recommendations
- Maintaining a clean and organized grooming area, including sanitizing tools and equipment after each use
- Managing appointment schedules efficiently to ensure timely service delivery
- Handling heavy lifting of pets safely during grooming procedures
- Answering telephones and booking appointments
Skills
- Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners and address their needs
- Experience in dog grooming or related animal care fields is preferred
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling large or heavy dogs
- Attention to detail to ensure precise grooming results that meet breed standards or customer requests
- Compassionate attitude towards animals, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the grooming process
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple appointments in a fast-paced environment
