Overview
We are seeking a skilled Laser/Brake Press Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining CNC laser cutting and press brake machines, ensuring precise fabrication of metal components. This role requires mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints. Candidates with experience in CNC programming, plasma cutting, welding, and machining are highly preferred. The position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment focused on quality and efficiency.
Duties
- Operate CNC laser cutting machines, press brake machines, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and plasma cutters to produce high-quality parts according to specifications.
- Program CNC equipment using blueprints and technical drawings to ensure accurate cuts and bends.
- Set up and adjust machinery, including calibration with calipers and other hand tools, to meet production standards.
- Perform quality inspections on finished parts using precision measurement tools such as calipers and gauges.
- Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and technical documents to determine machining requirements.
- Maintain safety standards by adhering to proper procedures for machine operation, including crane and forklift handling when necessary.
- Conduct routine maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
- Assist with assembly processes when required, ensuring parts meet quality standards before final inspection.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating CNC laser cutting systems, press brake machines, plasma cutters, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, or similar manufacturing equipment.
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
- Familiarity with CNC programming is highly desirable.
- Ability to use hand tools such as calipers for precise measurements.
- Basic math skills necessary for interpreting measurements and calculations related to machining processes.
- Experience with welding, assembly, or other fabrication techniques is a plus.
- Knowledge of safety procedures involving cranes, forklifts, and machine operation in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality inspection standards.
