We are constantly growing and currently looking for the right person to join our team as a Night Shift Supervisor for our Machining department!
Typical requirements include overseeing short lead time, small to large size parts, complex fabrication and machining, and assembly of finished product. We collaborate with our design engineers to optimise design requirements and to provide very quick and extremely dependable service. Multi-Power machinists and fabricators know it is important to deliver high quality parts and service.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise, coordinate and schedule the activities of workers who shape, form and join metal parts or products to specified dimensions, machine metal into parts, products, tools and dies or moulds with precise measurements and erect light and heavy metal products and structures
- Set up methods to meet work schedules and coordinate work activities with other departments
- Request materials and supplies as required
- Solve work problems and recommend work measures to improve productivity
- Train or arrange for training of workers
- Make sure standards for safe working conditions are met
- Prepare production and other reports
- Set up machines and equipment
- Troubleshoot machine, programming or material issues
- Write programs for computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Completion of secondary school is required
- Several years of experience as a qualified machinist or tool and die maker is required
- Journeyman/woman trade certification in machining, tool and die making or in another related metalworking trade is required
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
- The ideal candidate will adhere to the company's policies and procedures
