At our Fort McMurray Branch, we offer a base wage of $63.70. We value work-life balance with set shifts of 7x7 or 14x14, rotating days and nights. At SMS Equipment, our Heavy Equipment Technicians responsibilities include:
Using computerized and other specialized testing equipment to diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine the extent of repair required.
Make recommendations regarding extent of repairs and suggest methods of improvement to leaders and customers
Performing assemblies, preventative maintenance, repairs and complete overhauls on heavy equipment through the interpretation of work orders and technical manuals.
Have a strong awareness and attitude towards workplace health and safety.
Motivated and able to work in a challenging environment with minimal supervision.
Having experience on mining equipment is an asset.
In addition to your Heavy Equipment Technicians Journeyperson certification, your qualifications include:
Strong commitment to safety
1 year experience working as a Heavy Equipment Technician
Strong written and verbal communication
Valid Driver’s License
Some positions may require the ability to travel and meet customer site requirements
Experience with Komatsu equipment is considered an asset
Interprovincial Red Seal is considered an asset
