Fort Qu'Appelle Bldg & Home Supply is seeking a motivated and customer‑focused Sales Associate to join our team. We are a locally owned building and home supply retailer committed to providing exceptional service and quality products to our community.
Position Overview
The Sales Associate is responsible for delivering excellent customer service, supporting daily store operations, and maintaining a clean, organized retail environment. This is a full-time position that requires Saturday shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and assist customers in a professional and friendly manner
- Provide product information and support customer purchasing decisions
- Operate the point‑of‑sale (POS) system accurately and efficiently
- Handle cash transactions and perform accurate cash counting
- Utilize basic computer skills for inventory lookups, pricing, and internal communication
- Stock shelves, rotate inventory, and maintain product displays
- Receive, organize, and process incoming stock
- Perform daily cleaning and general store maintenance
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
Qualifications
- Previous retail or hardware/building supply experience is an asset, but not required
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Basic computer literacy and comfort with POS systems
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and handle multiple tasks
- Comfortable with physical tasks, including lifting and moving merchandise
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Must be a Canadian resident
Work Schedule
- Monday to Saturday rotating shifts
- Saturday shifts required
