____________
About us
Therapy Villa is a psychologist-led, private-pay clinic in Etobicoke. We work with clients who tried the short version of therapy and it didn't hold, so our focus is trauma-informed, long-term care done properly. We're now extending that same standard of care to children, adolescents, families, and couples, and we're hiring the clinician who will lead that work.
Why clinicians choose to stay here
You focus on the clinical work. Intake, scheduling, billing, and client communication are all handled by our admin team, so your time in the chair is spent doing therapy, not admin.
Your caseload comes to you. Referrals, physician outreach, and marketing are run by the clinic. You're not expected to build your own book of business or promote yourself to fill your calendar.
There are no session quotas here and no pressure to move clients through faster than the work calls for. Several of our clinicians came to us from practices where that pressure was constant, and it's not something we do.
You'll also get real clinical support: monthly rounds with our Clinical Director, a registered psychologist, plus case consultation with the wider team and structured time for professional development.
Finally, this role has room to grow. You'll start as an independent contractor, and once your caseload reaches 15 to 20+ hours a week, we're glad to move you onto part-time or full-time employment.
Compensation
$95 to $105 per clinical hour, paid per session, with full transparency on how that's calculated. No charges for room use, admin, or software.
Schedule
At least two in-person shifts per week at our Etobicoke office, with virtual availability on top of that. We also need weekday evening or weekend availability, since that's realistically when kids, teens, and working couples can come in.
What we're looking for
- Registered Social Worker in good standing with the OCSWSSW, with a Master of Social Work
- At least 2 years of post-graduate experience providing therapy to children, adolescents, families, and couples
- Training in trauma-focused modalities, with EMDR and/or somatic therapy training a strong plus. Background in attachment-based, emotion-focused, CBT/DBT, or family systems work is also welcome
- Current professional liability insurance
- A clear vulnerable sector check, or willingness to complete one
- Comfortable running both in-person and virtual sessions
- Asset: ability to provide therapy in a second language
What the role involves
- Running consults, assessments, and case formulation on your own
- Providing individual, family, and couples therapy across a caseload that spans children through adults
- Keeping clinical records to OCSWSSW and clinic standards
- Joining monthly clinical rounds and team consultation
