Overview
To support the day-to-day operation of our facilities. This role is responsible for performing basic building repairs and maintenance for multiple locations, coordinating with external trades and contractors for quotations and service work, and assisting with general warehouse duties. The ideal candidate is practical, organized, and comfortable working independently to identify and resolve facility-related issues.
Responsibilities
1. Building Maintenance
- Perform routine building maintenance and minor repairs, including basic plumbing, painting, carpentry, and general upkeep in our few locations in and around the GTA.
- Conduct regular inspections of our facilities and identify maintenance requirements.
- Troubleshoot and address minor maintenance issues in a timely manner.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance areas and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and report any hazards.
2. Contractor & Vendor Coordination
- Obtain quotations from trades and service providers for repair, maintenance, and improvement projects.
- Coordinate contractor visits and monitor work completion.
- Maintain records of service requests, quotations, and completed work.
- Assist management with evaluating vendor proposals and scheduling maintenance activities.
3. Warehouse Operations
- Assist with receiving, shipping, and inventory management.
- Load, unload, and move materials as required.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
- Support inventory counts and stock replenishment activities.
- Operate warehouse equipment safely (forklift experience is an asset).
Skills and Knowledge Requirements
- Must be able to speak English fluently to ensure safe and effective communication
- Possession of a valid Forklift License is mandator
- Previous experience in building maintenance, facilities support, property maintenance, or a similar hands-on role.
- Basic knowledge of general repairs, including painting, carpentry, plumbing, and minor electrical work.
- Ability to coordinate with contractors and obtain competitive quotations.
- Experience working in a warehouse or industrial environment is an asset.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
- Comfortable performing physical work, including lifting, carrying, and climbing ladders.
Desired Education & Experience
- Diploma or trade licenses in related fields are an asset.
- 3-5 years in Facility maintenance.
- Skills in negotiating, managing suppliers, and using procurement software.
- Valid driver's license.
