Why is this role important?
The role of a Financial Analyst – eCommerce poses the unique opportunity to play an important role in the growth of Loblaw Digital, a rapidly growing growth area for Loblaw. In this role you will analyze and report on the full P&L for five digital businesses from Sales to EBIT. The successful candidate will will play a critical role with the monthly business rhythm and performance reporting to Senior Leadership.
Assist with the financial reporting and forecasting function for the Loblaw Digital businesses.
Perform weekly reporting for Sr. Leadership, with responsibilities including consolidating results, developing analysis and commentary for each business. Review data for accuracy to financial reporting and identify + provide explanations for anomalies.
Perform period actual reporting, with responsibilities including preparing data for periodic financial reporting. Identifing trends while providing periodic, quarterly and full year analysis and commentary
Support for ad-hoc business analysis as neeed (including P&L and profitability analysis)
Develop and implement process improvements for the Loblaw Digital business.
Perform process reviews to identify inefficiencies and devlope and implement solutions
Support business controls by creating documentation of financial processes and forming a knowledge repository
What You'll Need:
Strong analytical skills with an ability to think outside the box
Advanced Microsoft Office skills, ideal candidate will also have exposure / competency using analytics tools such as SQL, R or Tableau
Enthusiastic learner with demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced changing work environment
Proactive individual with the ability to effectively manage various projects simultaneously to strict deadlines
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with other functions and build strong working relationships
Strong degree of ownership and accountability with high attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
