Position Summary
The Regional Manager - Mining is responsible for overseeing customer relationships, operational performance, and business development throughout the region. This position serves as a primary point of contact for customers, works closely with field and company leadership, and identifies opportunities to expand the company’s presence within the region and surrounding markets.
This role requires frequent travel to customer locations and project sites, including nationwide travel as business needs require.
Key Responsibilities
- Meet regularly with existing customers to understand their needs, evaluate service quality, and address performance concerns.
- Maintain strong, professional relationships with customers, vendors, and industry partners.
- Monitor regional operations to ensure customer expectations, company standards, and contractual requirements are being met.
- Work with field leadership to resolve operational issues and improve overall performance.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the assigned region and surrounding areas.
- Develop relationships with prospective customers and promote the company’s mining services and capabilities.
- Assist with preparing proposals, pricing, presentations, and other business-development materials.
- Monitor regional market conditions, upcoming projects, and competitor activity.
- Partner with operations, recruiting, safety, and senior leadership to support staffing and project requirements.
- Help ensure regional operations comply with company policies, customer requirements, and applicable safety regulations.
- Track customer feedback, business-development activity, and regional performance.
- Provide regular updates and recommendations to company leadership.
- Represent the company professionally at customer meetings, project sites, industry events, and community functions.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous management, operations, customer relations, or business-development experience within the mining industry is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of mining operations, workforce requirements, and industry safety expectations.
- Proven ability to develop customer relationships and identify new business opportunities.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple customers, projects, and priorities across a large geographic region.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently with limited supervision.
- Proficiency with email, Microsoft Office, and standard business-reporting tools.
- Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to travel up to 75%, including nationwide and overnight travel.
Work Environment and Travel
This position includes work in office settings, customer facilities, active mining operations, and project sites. The Regional Manager must be comfortable entering industrial and mining environments and following all required safety procedures. Nationwide travel of up to 75% is required and may include overnight stays, air travel, and extended driving.
Pay: $150,000.00-$350,000.00 per year
