The South Health Campus (SHC) Surgical Services is an innovative, collaborative, and patient and family centered unit. The SHC has four key pillars of service: Collaborative Practice, Wellness, Patient and Family Centered Care, and Innovation. These pillars are guiding the development and delivery of service. As an Administrative Support IV - Surgical Suites Unit Clerk, you will be a member of the inter-professional health care team. You will be responsible for ordering case carts, greeting patients, and visitors, verifying patient demographic and health information, answering multi-line telephones, paging members of our inter-disciplinary team, coordination of patients and transport, and responsible for the efficient flow of communication between health professionals, and departments, while maintaining confidentiality of patient information. You will be required to provide comprehensive clerical support, requiring strong organizational skills, with demonstrated high attention to detail in a very complex working environment.
Description:
As an Administrative Support IV, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.

Required Qualifications:
Some post-secondary education.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Unit Clerk course or equivalent. Medical terminology course. Minimum 3 years of recent Operating Room or Inpatient Medical/Surgical experience. Ability to excel in a fast paced, high demand Operating Room environment. Excellent communication skills, phone skills, and organizational skills. Demonstrated time management skills dealing with competing priorities. Experience with Connect Care and using computer programs such as Microsoft Office. Demonstrated excellence in patient and family centered care.
Preferred Qualifications:
Current Connect Care experience with OPTIME. SHC experience preferred.
