Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Apprentice Carpenter to join our construction team. This entry-level position offers hands-on experience in various aspects of carpentry and construction, providing a solid foundation for a career in the trades. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and an interest in building and renovation projects. This role involves working on diverse projects such as restoration, siding, concrete forming, and more, under the guidance of experienced carpenters. The position is paid and provides valuable training opportunities to develop essential skills in the construction industry.
Responsibilities
- Assist with reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to support project execution
- Learn and perform concrete forming, finishing, and related tasks under supervision
- Support installation of siding, framing, and other structural components using hand tools and power tools
- Operate heavy equipment and machinery safely as trained
- Participate in woodworking projects including cutting, shaping, and assembling materials
- Assist with restoration projects by repairing or replacing damaged structures
- Handle heavy lifting safely to move materials or equipment as required
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure safety and efficiency
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures on-site during construction activities
Experience
- Prior construction experience is needed; relevant skills such as working with hand tools or woodworking are advantageous
- Knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, or concrete finishing is a plus
- Experience with heavy equipment operation or welding is beneficial but not mandatory
- Strong interest in carpentry, construction trades, or related fields is essential
- Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking during shifts
