CORPORATE COOK
This is an onsite position in Oakville, ON.
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and organized Corporate Cook to independently manage daily culinary operations in a corporate kitchen. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals, managing food inventory, maintaining a clean kitchen environment, and ensuring that all meals align with corporate dietary guidelines. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys creating delicious, healthy meals while working in a professional setting with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook daily meals for corporate staff, including breakfast, lunch, and any special requests, while adhering to dietary preferences and restrictions
- Prepare customized meals for an executive according to specific nutritional guidelines, ensuring that the options are balanced and tailored to dietary requirements
- Execute a varied, nutritious menu that accommodates different dietary needs (e.g., plant-based, low-fat, gluten-free) while keeping food costs within budget
- Oversee kitchen inventory, ensuring timely and efficient ordering of ingredients and supplies. Monitor food quality and ensure proper storage
- Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen in line with health and safety guidelines, including regular sanitizing and dishwashing duties. Ensure all workstations and surfaces are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized before and after each shift
- Properly handle and store food, adhering to all relevant health regulations
- Maintain temperature logs for equipment (dishwasher, freezer, salad bar, etc.)
- Manage food costs by minimizing waste and optimizing ingredient usage
- Work closely with corporate staff to understand preferences, adjust menus as needed, and provide exceptional service
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years of cooking experience, preferably in a corporate, commercial, or high-end kitchen
- Post-secondary education in culinary or related studies
- Strong cooking skills with knowledge of various cuisines and dietary needs. Ability to create balanced, nutritious meals
- Must hold a valid food safety certification
- Ability to manage time efficiently and work independently, ensuring all meals are prepared on time
- Excellent attention to detail, ensuring food presentation and quality meet high standards
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to take meal requests and feedback from corporate staff
- Ability to follow direction and be flexible and adaptable in the work environment
- Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending, and squatting
