Are you a certified Early Childhood Educator ready to take the next step in your career? LearnStar Educational Programs Inc. is seeking a caring, organized and enthusiastic ECE Administrator to lead our licensed school-age program at Carbonear Academy.
Applicants must hold a minimum of Level II School-Age ECE certification. Candidates with a higher level of ECE certification are also encouraged to apply.
In this rewarding leadership role, you will oversee the program’s daily operations while helping create a safe, inclusive and engaging environment where children can learn, play and build meaningful connections. The successful candidate must be available for all scheduled program hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operation of the licensed school-age program.
- Provide leadership, guidance and support to program staff.
- Maintain a safe, respectful and inclusive environment for children.
- Ensure licensing requirements, staff-to-child ratios and LearnStar policies are followed.
- Plan and support engaging, age-appropriate educational and recreational activities.
- Provide attentive supervision and positive guidance to participating children.
- Maintain attendance records, program documentation and incident reports.
- Communicate professionally with families, school representatives and LearnStar leadership.
- Address staff, child or program concerns promptly and appropriately.
- Help maintain a clean, organized and hygienic program space.
- Promote positive relationships among children, families and team members.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma in Early Childhood Education.
- Minimum Level II School-Age ECE certification; higher certification levels are also accepted.
- Standard First Aid and CPR certification from a two-day training course.
- Valid Criminal Record Screening Check.
- Valid Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Current immunization record.
Previous leadership or administrative experience and experience working with school-age children are considered assets.

Physical Requirements
The successful candidate must be able to guide and assist children consistently and safely. This position may require lifting or carrying materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, maintaining balance, kneeling, bending and moving quickly when assisting children or responding to emergencies.
