Job Summary
Teach one-on-one or small group lessons for
- SAT Reading & Writing
- SSAT Verbal & Reading
- IB English Language & Literature / English Literacy
Responsibilities
- Conduct one-on-one or group tutoring sessions focused on SAT, SSAT, and IB English components
- Develop customized lesson plans that align with each student’s strengths and areas for improvement
- Enhance students’ reading comprehension, writing skills, vocabulary, and grammar proficiency
- Prepare students for standardized testing by teaching test-taking strategies and time management techniques
- Monitor student progress regularly and adjust teaching methods accordingly
- Provide constructive feedback to students and communicate their progress to parents or guardians when appropriate
- Maintain a positive, encouraging classroom atmosphere that motivates students to excel academically
Experience
- Three or more years of prior experience tutoring or teaching English at the high school level or above is a must.
- Strong writing skills with the ability to teach essay composition, grammar, and language mechanics effectively
- Familiarity with standardized exams such as SAT, SSAT, and IB assessments is a plus
- Passion for education and helping students succeed academically through engaging instruction and personalized support
Pay: $35.00-$55.00 per hour
