Join a Specialized Engineering Team Building Custom Industrial Freezer Systems.
About Us
Advanced Equipment Inc. is a long-established manufacturer of custom industrial freezer systems for food processing customers around the world.
We are looking for a talented Senior Mechanical Design Engineer who enjoys solving real mechanical problems, and turning design, shop, and field feedback into practical equipment improvements.
This is a hands-on mechanical design position for someone who can think practically, understand how equipment is built, and turn design, shop, and field feedback into better long-term equipment solutions.
What You’ll Do
- Design, review, and improve mechanical systems and components for custom industrial equipment.
- Improve equipment designs for reliability, manufacturability, assembly, serviceability, and long-term performance.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues during design, fabrication, assembly, testing, installation, startup, and service.
- Review frames, supports, moving components, and mechanical assemblies for strength, alignment, clearance, vibration, and reliability concerns.
- Work with engineering, production, and shop teams to resolve fit-up issues, assembly challenges, part interferences, and manufacturing concerns.
- Translate practical feedback into improved designs, drawing updates, standard components, checklists, or tooling improvements.
- Review drawings and models to confirm design intent, mechanical feasibility, manufacturability, and assembly practicality.
What We’re Looking For
- 8+ years of mechanical design experience in industrial equipment, custom machinery, food processing equipment, heavy equipment, material handling systems, conveyor systems, or manufacturing environments.
- Strong practical mechanical design experience with fabricated structures, equipment frames, moving assemblies, conveyors, supports, guards, brackets, and mechanical components.
- Practical understanding of fabrication, welding, sheet metal, machining, assembly, installation, startup, serviceability, and equipment maintenance.
- Strong SolidWorks and AutoCAD experience.
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical problems and develop practical, manufacturable, and reliable solutions.
- Ability to balance technical design, manufacturability, reliability, safety, serviceability, and real shop requirements.
- Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, Mechanical Technology, or a related field.
Nice to Have
- Experience with industrial freezers, refrigeration-related equipment, food processing equipment, or similar custom machinery.
- Experience with tooling, fixtures, jigs, SOPs, work instructions, or manufacturing process improvement.
- P.Eng designation or eligibility is an asset, but not required.
