Locum Relief Pharmacist
Location: Okanagan Region, British Columbia
Assignment Dates: August 20 – October 16
Rate: $100/hour (All-Inclusive)
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Dispensing Volume: Approximately 150 prescriptions per day
About the Role:
We are seeking a licensed and experienced Relief Pharmacist to cover a temporary assignment in the beautiful Okanagan Valley. This is an excellent opportunity for a pharmacist looking for a steady, full-time locum position in a supportive pharmacy environment. The role offers a competitive all-inclusive rate and a consistent Monday-to-Friday schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all daily pharmacy operations in the absence of the regular pharmacist.
- Accurately dispense and verify an average of 150 prescriptions per day.
- Provide clinical consultation and counseling to patients regarding medications, side effects, and proper usage.
- Ensure compliance with all federal and provincial pharmacy regulations and standards.
- Collaborate with pharmacy technicians and assistants to maintain efficient workflow.
- Manage prescription intake, drug interactions, and therapeutic substitutions as required.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Active and unrestricted license to practice as a Pharmacist in British Columbia (must be in good standing with the College of Pharmacists of BC).
- Minimum of 1–2 years of community or retail pharmacy experience in Canada.
- Proficiency with Kroll pharmacy software is considered a strong asset.
- Strong clinical assessment and communication skills.
- Ability to quickly adapt to a new environment and workflow.
- Reliable, professional, and able to work independently.
