Assistant General Manager (Restaurant)
Burdock is a brewery, restaurant, music hall, and steakhouse with locations in Bloordale and Kensington Market. Now in our 11th year, we're an independent hospitality company focused on thoughtful food, world class beer, warm service, and creating places people genuinely love spending time in and want to come back to.
The Role
We're looking for an Assistant General Manager to join our restaurant leadership team who will work directly with our Chef & General Manager. They will lead the front-of-house team, uphold service standards, and support daily operations like scheduling, ordering, staff development, maintenance and making sure the restaurant runs smoothly day to day.

We want someone who is motivated to deliver high quality hospitality in a supportive and positive workplace. We're a tight-knit group so we place a high value on kindness and emotional intelligence - the ideal candidate knows how to work had and have fun with their team when the restaurant is full and busy. Expertise in beer and wine is essential, along with a strong appreciation for the fundamentals of hospitality.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of restaurant serving experience
- Previous hospitality management experience
- Valid Smart Serve certification
- Strong food, beer & wine knowledge
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Organized, dependable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Kind, collaborative, and motivated to provide exceptional hospitality
