Job Summary
The focus of the Student Experience unit within Student Affairs is to help advocate for and create inclusive opportunities for all students. Reporting to the Manager, Student Development and Programming, the incumbent will direct, consult, plan, implement, and evaluate comprehensive services and programs that contribute to enriching student life through student leadership opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
Develop an annual leadership/mentorship plan in consultation with the Manager, Student Development and Programming, the Director of Assessment & Special Projects and colleagues across Student Affairs and the University which is inclusive of students’ diverse needs.
Plan, organize and execute events and programming.
Set specific short and long-term student leadership and mentorship goals, as well as create leadership, service, and civic engagement learning outcomes.
Lead the implementation of the Together@Dal program, including mentor hiring, training and matching.
Advise students on leadership opportunities and the value of community involvement in one-on-one and in group settings.
Conduct needs assessments and work with leadership to identify and provide support services that respond to students’ needs and interests. Develop service area goals, action plans, outcomes, and measures of success.

Note
The successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of in-person work on campus and remote work) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines.

Evening and weekend work will be required and is a frequent part of this position.

Qualifications
Undergraduate degree with three to five years’ experience in leadership development, community engagement, and experiential learning programs in a post-secondary education setting (or equivalent combination of training and experience) is required. Demonstrated commitment and understanding to diversity, inclusion and access, with experience in developing inclusive programs with student development in mind is required. Event management and program development experience is required. Proven ability to lead, coach, and supervise student staff and volunteers is necessary.
