Job Summary:
Regulatory Affair Manager oversees the regulation process for product requiring certifying body, customers and all other business partners approval, including filing necessary applications and handling all regulatory inquires / interactions. This position ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and has full authority of regulatory team actions and extensive knowledge of department processes. The Regulatory Affairs Supervisor reports to Senior Director of FSQA/RD.
Key Responsibilities:
· Establish and lead a process of identifying, tracking and influencing proposed and pending regulatory changes potentially impacting Sunco Foods supply chains and finished good products
· Identify proposed and pending SFCR and FDA regulatory changes impacting food service and retail products labels and supply chain and maintain current knowledge of relevant regulations and final rules
· Translate and interpret proposed regulatory changes in terms of Sunco impacts; proactively engage partners and support mitigation activity
· Review all regulatory submission materials to ensure timeliness, accuracy, comprehensiveness, or compliance with regulatory standards.
· Serve as the expert on regulatory risks as an input into Risk Management processes
· Collaborate between and within market Supply Chain Teams to advise on food safety strategy and compliance goals
· Provide representation and external engagement on regulatory-related topics with organization working groups/teams
· Develop technical label copy for company and private brand products, provides information to the business on regulatory matters and manages issues pertaining to labeling and advertising
· Track and report on market critical metrics related to critical-to-food-safety activities and processes; verify and demonstrate compliance
· Support supplier/category and reputational risk management by demonstrating regulatory/technical subject matter expertise
· Manage activities such as regulatory agency inspections, or product recalls and manage the preparation and submission of regulatory agency applications, reports, or correspondence
· Formulate or implement regulatory affairs policies and procedures to ensure that regulatory compliance is maintained or enhanced
· Develop regulatory strategies and implementation plans for the preparation and submission of new products
· Monitor emerging trends regarding industry regulations to determine potential impacts on organizational processes
· Follow all company policies and procedures, including: GMP, SQF, HACCP, Health & Safety, Attendance, etc.
· Follow safe work practices and procedures as per company policies and procedures and Work Safe regulations
Requirements, Skills & Qualifications:
· 5+ years of experience with an ingredient/food manufacturing company and/or food science/technical/regulatory organization, with specific time spent in roles related to food safety/technical services, vendor/ingredient supply chain risk assessment and management, and/or regulatory compliance (including engaging authorities on rule-making processes and understanding field deployment, inspection and enforcement)
· Undergraduate degree in Food Science or related field (food microbiology, chemistry)
· Leadership and individual skills required include being: highly motivated and self-directed, able to effectively connect with internal and external partners, an influencer that constructively effects change, and motivated by opportunities to make impacts and get results that matter for our customers
· Proven ability to lead food safety and regulatory issues/compliance within a food manufacturing environment
· Thorough knowledge and understanding of the US and Canadian Food & Drugs Act and Regulations and other consumer packaging regulations
· Must be highly organized with a strong focus on detail and accuracy

Pay: $60,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
