Business Intelligence Engineer North America

What you will do:
- Work & collaborate with the assigned customer-facing teams to achieve Bayer Crop Science (BCS) Canada business objectives & deliver positive outcomes by providing accurate data insights and architecture
- Data Integration and Delivery: Integrates data from multiple sources to deliver high-quality datasets with consistent metric calculation, supporting BI stakeholders with data discovery, process execution, and metric development through advanced dashboards and reports. Ensures data security, privacy, and compliance.
- Data Set Development and Management: Develops and implements accurate, consistent, and secure data sets to support key metrics, organizes data into optimized structures using traditional data warehousing techniques, and maintains a business-driven data pipeline, ensuring seamless transitions to IT when appropriate.
- Continuous Improvement and Problem Solving: Continuously enhances data processes, supports functional users by simplifying data queries, implements data quality control, and adapts to evolving tools, technologies, and data environments. Engages in automation of repetitive tasks and explores innovative data integration methods.
- Cross-functional Insight and Ownership: Owns efforts to deliver maintainable data pipelines, understands and translates data needs into actionable measures, drives the common understanding of key performance indicators across functions, and manages and documents data projects from inception to completion using Agile project management methodologies.
Who you are:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Intelligence, Data Science, Computer Science, Math or a related field
- 6/+ years of experience working with data (e.g., Finance, Data Warehousing, Data Analytics)
- Direct experience in the Business Intelligence field
- Expertise in leveraging one or more tools in the Business Intelligence Data Integration space (i.e. Alteryx, Azure Data Factory, Talend, Mulesoft, Google Cloud Function), along with proficiency in BI tools (i.e. Tableau, Microsoft Power Platform, Velocity)
- Competency working with data in relational databases (i.e. Oracle and/or Microsoft SQL Server or equivalent)
- Utilizes cloud-based data warehousing solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google BigQuery)
- Python and SQL programming languages
- Expertise in working with ERP and CRM systems (i.e. SAP, Sales Force, Microsoft Dynamics 365)
- Able to communicate complex data insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders
- Engages in continuous learning to stay updated with the latest advancements in business intelligence and data analytics
Additional Preferred Skills:
- Communication and Analytical Skills: Demonstrates very strong English communication skills with all levels of business and possesses excellent critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills in the data arena.
- Collaboration and Industry Knowledge: Collaborative team-focused delivery experience, with a preference for the Agricultural Industry and/or supply chain knowledge.
- Metrics and Data Architecture: Proven experience defining and delivering metrics in a data architecture to support reporting and analysis, ensuring robust and insightful data-driven decisions.
