Drive the launch of Caledon's new on-demand electric transit service. Ride Transit Inc. operates the ArGo on-demand EV service for the Town of Caledon: no fixed routes — every trip is dispatched in real time to the tablet in your Karsan eJEST electric bus. This is a brand-new service, a brand-new electric fleet, and a founding driver team.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Operate a Karsan eJEST electric bus on live-dispatched trips across the Caledon service area
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections (DVIR) — a legal duty we train you on thoroughly
- Assist every passenger: Boarding, mobility-device securement, accessible service done right
- Manage your vehicle's charging at shift end — full EV training provided
- Work with a live supervisor team and a purpose-built operations platform
- PAY & TERMS (disclosed per the Ontario Employment Standards Act)
- Paid training: $25.00/hr — 10 business days starting August 14, 2026 (attendance for all 10 consecutive days required)
- Service wage: $25.00/hr base, progression up to $27.00/hr
- Permanent full-time, 40 hours/week · bi-weekly direct deposit
- Shifts rotate across a service day of approximately 5:30 AM–8:40 PM weekdays and 7:00 AM–7:30 PM weekends — early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays are part of the role
- Revenue service begins August 31, 2026
- Vacation, public holidays, and leaves per the Employment Standards Act
WHAT YOU NEED
- Valid Ontario Class F, C, or B licence (Class G is not sufficient for this role)
- Minimum 2 years of commercial or passenger-vehicle driving experience — experience from any country counts equally
- 3-year driver's abstract: maximum 2 minor convictions, no criminal driving convictions
- Criminal record & vulnerable sector check (complete before training — start early, processing takes 2–4 weeks)
- Current commercial driver's medical (MTO) or willingness to complete one before training
- Legal entitlement to work in Canada
Work location is the Ride Transit operations yard in the Town of Caledon, Ontario, and the Caledon service area. Report times start as early as 4:30–5:00 AM, before public transit operates — you must have reliable personal transportation to reach the yard and any location your supervisor assigns.
Pay: $25.00-$27.00 per hour
