We are currently seeking a skilled and dependable Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team at our Indus facility. In this role, you will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of a diverse fleet of heavy equipment, trucks, and trailers, helping ensure our equipment remains safe, compliant, and ready for operation.
A key component of this position is performing Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program (CVIP) inspections and completing any required repairs to maintain regulatory compliance. We welcome applications from experienced Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanics as well as qualified apprentices with strong hands-on experience.
The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-focused, detail-oriented, and capable of diagnosing and resolving a wide range of equipment issues in a fast-paced shop environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on heavy equipment, trucks, and trailers
- Diagnose and troubleshoot hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, and engine-related issues
- Conduct Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program (CVIP) inspections in accordance with Alberta regulations
- Complete repairs necessary to meet inspection and compliance standards
- Identify and address maintenance concerns proactively to minimize downtime
- Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and repair documentation
- Ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Support overall fleet readiness by maintaining equipment to company standards
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience repairing heavy equipment, trucks, or trailers
- Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic certification is considered an asset
- Valid Alberta CVIP Inspection License is required
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities
- Experience working with hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team environment
