Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Drywall Taper to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for applying joint compound, taping drywall seams, and preparing surfaces for finishing. This role requires attention to detail, familiarity with construction processes, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The Drywall Taper plays a vital part in ensuring smooth, professional wall finishes that meet project specifications and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Apply joint compound and tape to drywall seams and corners with precision and consistency
- Sand and finish drywall surfaces to achieve a smooth, even appearance
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and priming prior to taping or painting
- Collaborate with carpenters, painters, and other trades to coordinate work flow
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively during taping and finishing tasks
- Maintain a clean work area, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times
Experience
- Prior experience in construction painting, carpentry, or drywall finishing is preferred
- Strong understanding of construction safety standards and practices
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in various project environments
- Experience with hand tools, taping tools, mud boxes and finishing equipment
- Can use stilts
