Job Summary:
The Press Machine Operator is a key player in the production process, ensuring efficient and precise operation of our Press Machine. Reporting directly to the Production Lead, they are responsible for maintaining high-quality machine outputs, maintaining equipment, and supporting a safe and organized work environment. This role requires mechanical skill, attention to detail, and the ability to follow instructions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Accountabilities (Outcomes & Measures):
- Product Quality: Consistently produce parts that meet company specifications and quality standards.
- Production Efficiency: Meet hourly and daily machine production targets with minimal downtime or scrap.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Team Collaboration: Support colleagues and supervisors by maintaining open communication, a good attitude, and assisting in process improvements.
- Equipment Care: Operate and maintain machines with care to prevent unplanned breakdowns and extend equipment life.
Responsibilities (Tasks & Duties):
Machine Operation
- Set up, operate, and monitor the Press Machine.
- Load raw materials, unload finished products, and trim excess material.
- Adjust machine settings as needed to maintain quality and efficiency.
- Inspect parts during operations to ensure proper tolerance and specifications.
Process & Documentation
- Accurately record production data such as output timesheets, scrap, and downtime.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and suggest opportunities for improvement.
- Perform routine machine cleaning, lubrication, and minor maintenance tasks.
Workplace Organization & Safety
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with 5S practices.
- Report unsafe conditions, incidents, near misses, and defective equipment or materials to a leader.
- Participate in safety training and actively apply safe work practices.
Team Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, leaders, and managers.
- Support other production areas as needed to meet overall production targets and objectives.
- Provide feedback on production methods to improve efficiency and quality.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to problem-solving discussions.

What We're Looking For:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Technical or vocational training or certification in machine operation is an asset.
- 2 years of experience in operating hydraulic presses or plastic fabricating machinery is required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong reporting and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Capable of physically lifting parts up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to remain standing for prolonged periods of time.
- Strong manual dexterity.
- Valid driver’s license and vehicle.
