Wendel's Bookstore & Café is located in historic Fort Langley since 1997. We are a high volume café serving breakfast, lunch, dinner, along with a large baked goods selection. All our food is made in house with high quality ingredients.
Join our friendly team at Wendel’s Bookstore & Café — a busy, community-loved spot that takes pride in great food, a welcoming atmosphere, and high standards for cleanliness and safety. We’re looking for a hardworking individual to support our back-of-house team and keep the café sparkling clean.
What You’ll Do
- Maintain cleanliness in all back-of-house & front of house work areas
- Mop floors
- Manage garbage, recycling, and compost stations
- Clean and sanitize washrooms throughout your shift
- Follow daily cleaning checklists to ensure food safety and sanitation standards are met
- Work collaboratively with FOH & BOH teams in a fast-paced environment
What We Are Looking For:
- A team player with a positive attitude
- Must have reliable own transportation (public transit may not be available during required hours)
- Comfortable working on your feet and lifting up to 40 lbs
- Reliable, punctual, and eager to learn
- Experience in a commercial kitchen an asset, but we’re happy to train the right fit!
Position Details:
- Part-time: approximately 15–20 hours per week
- Primarily mornings and weekends
- Earliest shift begins at 5:30 AM
- Typical shifts are 5-6 hours
- Paid breaks included
Compensation & Benefits:
- $20.00 to $22.00 per hour, depending on experience

- Supportive and friendly work environment
- Tip pool with an equal split between all cafe staff with an average of $4.00-5.00 extra per hour worked
