TKD Trading Ltd. is an established, family-run company operating out of Delta, BC. We run two complementary business divisions: heavy equipment sales and excavation contracting. Our contracting division focuses on small to medium size commercial and residential projects which can include: general excavation, demolition, site preparation, foundation excavation, and drainage installations throughout the Lower Mainland.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced, reliable, intermediate-level Excavator Operator to join our team. You will be operating, a variety of equipment ranging from mini-to-mid-sized excavators (17-size to 230-size). This role requires a hands-on operator who is comfortable working on varied sites, from tight residential foundation digs to larger commercial projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate mini to mid-sized excavators (17 to 230 size) and other equipment, such as tracked dumpers and wheel loaders.
- Collaborate with other onsite trades and General Contractors, leading excavation works with professionalism and care.
- Drive company vehicles with care and attention
- Work collaboratively with onsite teams to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to specification; be willing to ‘jump in’ with other onsite work when equipment is idle.
- Maintain records of equipment usage, inspections, and work performed for compliance and safety documentation, where required.
- Support site cleanup and ensure all work areas are safe and organized.
- Perform basic daily maintenance checks on equipment and trucks.
Qualifications
- Experience: Intermediate-level experience (3–5 years) operating excavators, preferably in both residential and commercial environments.
- Skills: Proven experience with foundation excavations, site preparation, demolition, and drainage/utility installation. Ability to read and interpret basic site plans is a strong asset.
- Safety: Strong commitment to safe operating procedures and maintaining a clean work environment.
- Drivers License: A valid class 5 BC Driver’s License and reliable transportation to our Delta yard is required. A class 3 or class 1 license is a strong asset.
