Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and professional Host/Hostess to create a welcoming atmosphere for our guests. The ideal candidate will excel in guest services, have excellent communication skills, and possess a strong background in hospitality and food service. This role is vital in ensuring our guests have a positive first impression and an enjoyable dining experience. The Host/Hostess will manage reservations, greet guests, and coordinate seating arrangements efficiently to support smooth restaurant operations.
Responsibilities
- Welcome guests warmly upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements
- Manage reservations and waitlists using POS systems such as Micros POS or similar platforms
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing guest inquiries and needs promptly
- Maintain a clean and organized host stand area
- Communicate effectively with the kitchen and service staff to ensure timely seating and service
- Handle phone inquiries with professional phone etiquette, including taking reservations and answering questions
- Assist with guest flow management during peak hours to minimize wait times
- Support the restaurant team with additional tasks as needed to enhance guest experience
Experience
- Previous experience in guest services, serving, or hospitality preferred
- Restaurant experience is highly desirable, especially familiarity with Micros POS or similar systems
- Strong communication skills and excellent phone etiquette are essential
- Knowledge of food service operations and customer service best practices is a plus
- Experience working in hotel or restaurant environments will be considered an asset
