Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Dietician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide expert nutritional guidance, develop individualized meal plans, and support patient care across various medical settings. Responsibilities
- Assess patients’ nutritional needs through detailed case management and medical history review
- Develop personalized nutrition plans tailored to patient conditions, including pediatrics and acute care cases
- Educate patients and their families on dietary modifications, meal planning, and nutritional goals
- Monitor patient progress and adjust nutrition interventions accordingly
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals such as nurses, physicians, and therapists to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient interactions using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to coordinate care strategies
- Stay current with advances in medical terminology, nutrition science, and healthcare regulations
- Support hospital initiatives aimed at improving patient outcomes through proper nutrition management
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related healthcare field; licensure or certification as a registered dietitian preferred
- Proven experience in hospital or acute care settings is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, nursing practices, and pediatric nutrition
- Multilingual abilities or bilingual skills (including French) are a plus for effective communication with diverse patient populations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for documentation and case management purposes
- Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients and collaborate with healthcare teams
- Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases efficiently within time constraints
- Analysis skills for evaluating patient data and developing appropriate nutritional interventions
- Mechanical knowledge or familiarity with medical equipment is advantageous but not required
- Ability to work well under pressure in fast-paced hospital environments while maintaining attention to detail
