Senior Technical Project Manager, Data and Analytics

Senior Technical Project Manager, Data and Analytics, Brampton, ON

In this role, you will work closely with the Delivery Directors of Data and Analytics project teams (IT and vendors) and Business colleagues to collaboratively deliver business objectives, while following a defined project management methodology, both hybrid or Agile, ensuring that the solution implemented is both supportable and sustainable.

You will also help direct a team of self-motivated and well-respected team members, while driving the strategic direction of the Data and Analytic team. As a Senior Technical Project Manager, you are accountable for the overall execution of project processes and deliverables in-line with the project plan, including planning, financial, communication, stakeholder, risk and issue, and scope management.

What You’ll Do:
Develop, monitor and actively manage a task-level Project master schedule / plan, including the gathering of time estimates and cost estimates and input to the scope, schedule, budget and resource plan

Develop a budget and resource plan (in Clarity), actively monitoring and managing all project financials

Manage a number of small projects at any given time, and time horizon of projects generally range from short to medium term

Effectively communicate relevant project information to all project stakeholders, both written and verbal

Manage the day-to-day deliverables of all project resources, manage expectations of all project stakeholders and manage vendor delivery in accordance with any project statements of work

Identify, assess, rank and describe the process of how project risks will be avoided or mitigated and assign accountability around the ongoing monitoring of any perceived risks that the project might encounter that could impact the ability to successfully deliver

Conduct bi-weekly status meetings to ensure all stakeholders and all responsible working groups are aligned

What you Bring:
Demonstrated experience in the IT project delivery function; with proven success developing and implementing solutions within a multi-stakeholder organization

Demonstrated understanding and experience in AGILE delivery methodology and best practices including familiarity of using tools such as Jira and Confluence

Thorough understanding and practical application of analytical tools, project management methodologies and techniques

Planning and Organizing – Experience managing business expectations, leading project review meetings, managing and setting priorities as appropriate in large enterprise projects

Management of RAID and budget items pertaining to respective projects

Strong facilitation skills that include meeting organization and preparation, conducting brainstorming sessions / workshops, clear presentation of ideas, ability to moderate discussions, and drive consensus on direction.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written. An ability to provide a common vision to a group.
