Description of Duties:

  • Reports to Project Manager
  • Generate high quality work in alliance with the vision and mission of the company
  • Work to establish, adjust, and maintain work sequences to meet the construction schedule for a given projects
  • Organize and coordinate all project materials and equipment.
  • Supervise and coordinate all the workings on multiple job sites including that of a crew of technicians, apprentices and sub trades
  • Ensure all low voltage electrical and communication wiring, devices, distribution, equipment and fixtures are installed to meet the current electrical code and local building codes. Teach these skills to apprentices and other field employees
  • Read and interpret specifications, contract documents, plans, prepare sketches of proposed work, produce layout drawings and code calculations for projects
  • Ability to effectively address change orders, requests for information and layout realignments
  • Analyze and quickly resolve any assigned scope of work problems that may arise and ensure that all work site deficiencies are corrected in a timely manner
  • Leads by example - sets, monitors, and enforces Work Safe BC safety standards and quality of work practices
  • Conduct quality control inspections on project sites.
  • Coordinates with all other trades working on a job site to ensure smooth assemblies and transitions
  • Instruct and train workers to install, maintain and repair various types of medium and low voltage wiring, devices, equipment and fixtures

Requirements:

  • FSR Low Energy Systems or Electrical Journeyman Ticket
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in the commercial electrical industries
  • Experience working with various low voltage systems such as Nurse Call, Telephone, Structured Cabling, Sound Systems, Security Cameras, Door Access and Security Systems
  • Proficiency with the 2015 Canadian Electrical Code and local building codes
  • Good Communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Must have a valid driver license and vehicle
  • Basic computer literacy, including Microsoft Word and Excel experience
  • Enthusiastic and willing to be part of a positive team environment
  • Strong material procurement skills

Additional Skills:

  • Project management experience or training, understanding the critical path and lifecycle of electrical projects from beginning to end
  • Willingness to learn and develop
  • Training certifications (fall/scissor/boom lift, first aid, Bicsi etc.)

Compensation:

  • Competitive wage based on experience $38.00 to $40.00 /hour

Education:

  • Skilled Trade Certificate (Required)
