Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, the Quality Assurance Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the certifications, standards, and the ways of working in place at Nature's Touch are maintained and respected at all times. The Quality Assurance Coordinator is a hard-working, detail-oriented individual who's not afraid to roll up her/his sleeves and work closely with all departments in the organization in a highly collaborative atmosphere of continuous improvement.

Job Responsibilities:

Provides proper training and coaches the QA technicians' team; regularly visits other shifts, ensures all food safety and quality assurance tasks are completed, replaces the QA Manager when absent, etc.

Be the HACCP and SQF practitioner.

Ensures compliance with our factory regulations, certifications in place, documentation, standards, specifications, and GMPs.

Curious and proactive in detecting potential risks and acts to mitigate the observed risks.

Ensures effectiveness using thorough investigation, root cause analysis, and CAPA when deviations, non-conformances, or complaints are raised. Completes and documents related documentation and reports. Acts as a problem solver.

Follows and acts as a reference and a positive mobilizer in ensuring the EMP (Environmental Monitoring Program), GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and GDP (Good Documentation Practices) are followed by all employees. Makes tours on the production floor.

Oversees the day-to-day execution of the quality operations inspections.

Oversees the day-to-day execution of the raw material and finished goods' hold and release process.

Works in collaboration and provides technical food safety and quality expertise to colleagues from other departments, such as Maintenance, Production, Warehouse, Corporate, etc.

Supports internal and external audits.

Is comfortable communicating with senior management, staff, and corporate.

Actively contributes to data collection and improvement initiatives to meet target KPIs.

Participates in the validation and qualification process when new products, equipment, processes, etc.

Performs other duties as required.
EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

University degree in Food Science and Technology or equivalent (ex: ITA - Institut de Technologie Agroalimentaire).

Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the food manufacturing sector or equivalent.

Excellent communication skills in English and French (written and spoken to serve our internal and external customers).

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Strong knowledge of HACCP and GFSI. (SQF is an asset.)

Capable of working in a cold environment for a few hours (with the appropriate clothing provided).
