About the role
The Items Analyst Associate (IA) position is based at the Contractor Field Office (CFO) at 8 Wing Trenton, Ontario and will be responsible to the LMA Lead on all matters concerning logistics support to the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) C-130J aircraft fleet. The primary function is to provide support to both Marietta, Georgia, U.S. logistics personnel and to the on-site LMA Lead.
The successful candidate will have a background in logistics support or supply chain management and be able to enforce contractual requirements while satisfying customer expectations. This position requires a proactive approach to supply issues. Strong communication skills are necessary to work effectively amongst a dynamic group of internal and external customers. The position is co-located within the customer's facility. The candidate will be working in a team environment and must demonstrate the ability to take direction from the logistics lead in the CFO and work with the CFO management. The IA assists in decision making related to day-to-day execution of the C-130J support contract.
Duties include, but are not limited to:

Responsible for assuring inventory sufficiency with respect to mission requirements throughout the life cycle of supported systems

Manages and controls the asset position of inventories, especially under the conditions of performance based logistics (PBL)

Makes and executes decisions to operating inventory to include suppliers, repair facilities and 3 PLs, including priority interpretation, inventory allocation and asset redistribution as necessary among sources of supply and military operating locations

Responds to military service inquiries; supports requests for proposals and provisioning determinations; understands and uses various inventory optimization models

Forecasts and manages budget requirements

Interfaces with company and DND information management systems

Ensures fidelity of asset identification; resolves technical and support problems for assigned classes of items by actively interfacing with engineering and suppliers

Prepares status reports and metrics relating to supplier performance and mission readiness.
What you bring to the role
Bachelor's degree or diploma from an accredited college or university in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education. Entry level.
Additional skills desired for the role
Basic knowledge of SAP, DRMIS and ability to read and interpret technical publications is considered an asset.
