Your Opportunity:
The Maz Cardiac Clinics are high-volume, fast-paced clinics that focus on providing patient-centered care, treatment, and education for a variety of cardiac disorders. The Ambulatory LPN reports to the Unit Manager and collaborates with the care team to support clinic visits. Responsibilities include performing initial assessments (such as weight, blood pressure and medication reconciliation) and administering general treatments under physician direction. Other duties may include but are not limited to medication administration, lab collections, dressing changes (including wound vac dressing changes), procedures and treatments, patient education, and care coordination. As an LPN in clinic, you are a crucial role in an interdisciplinary team ensuring quality patient care in an outpatient setting.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:
A minimum of 6-12 months recent (within the last year) working in an Ambulatory Cardiology Outpatient Clinic. Demonstrated reliability is essential. Demonstrated excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication and priority setting skills. Connect Care experience required. Ability to lift and carry 10-15kg regularly. Ability to participate in hands on patient care (i.e.: transfers, bariatric clients, bending, twisting, walking distances). Must be able to lift, mobilize and transport patients via stretcher and wheelchair. Able to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment. Basic computer skills are essential.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with patient teaching. Experience assisting physicians with minor procedures.
