We have a Real Estate Lawyer position available within our dynamic and growing firm that should also be familiar with general corporation and commercial law.
The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic, pay keen attention to detail and have a clear understanding of the value in providing excellent client service. Working in a team environment with experienced lawyers and law clerks and Assistants, he/she will be responsible for handling legal and administrative work related to real estate transactions and matters. The successful candidate must have a solid working knowledge of title searching, conveyancing, and work extensively with Teraview. A great attitude and emphasis on client experience are a must.
Responsibilities and Duties
Handling of all aspects of a residential and commercial real estate transactions including purchases, sales, and refinancing.
Reviewing agreements, communicating with clients, reviewing title search, drafting requisition letters.
Preparing closing and mortgage documents, meeting with clients (virtually), reviewing all documents for closing.
Ordering title insurance policies.
Attendance on closings, reporting letters to client and mortgage lenders after closing.
Required Experience
Minimum 1-2 years experience working in a real estate law firm.
Licensed with the Law Society of Ontario.
Software: Experience with Microsoft Office, Word, Closer, Teraview.
Experience with PC law and AdobeSign is an asset.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Excellent organizational, time management, interpersonal and communication skills.
