Blackbird Security is seeking a Senior Security Site Lead (1-year Contract) for an exciting new project in Tilbury, BC
Role Summary
As the Senior Security Site Lead, your primary responsibility will be to fully support the Senior Security & Risk Specialist in overseeing the quality of our security operational services at the Tilbury and Delta Distribution Centers (DCs). You will manage the day-to-day security operations within a warehouse environment, ensuring the safety of the facility, personnel, and inventory. This role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to respond quickly and effectively to incidents.
What You’ll do
- Manage and coordinate daily security activities across the Distribution Centers to ensure a safe and secure environment for all personnel and assets.
- Conduct and oversee the training of security personnel, ensuring all staff are well-versed in security protocols, emergency procedures, and the use of security equipment.
- Regularly update training materials and conduct refresher courses to maintain high standards of security awareness among employees.
- Attend and actively participate in leadership meetings, providing insights and updates on security operations, risks, and incident management.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure security considerations are integrated into broader operational strategies and plans.
- Lead investigations into security incidents such as theft, breaches, and other safety concerns.
- Prepare detailed reports and provide recommendations to prevent future occurrences.
- Coordinate with law enforcement or external agencies when necessary.
- Assist with the installation, maintenance, and servicing of security technology systems, including Access Control, CCTV, and Intrusion Detection Systems.
- Ensure all security systems are fully operational, regularly updated, and meet the required standards for the facility.
- Monitor and manage the physical security of the facilities, including access control points, surveillance systems, and intrusion detection.
- Regularly inspect and assess the security infrastructure, identifying areas for improvement or upgrades to maintain optimal security levels.
Who You Are
- Valid BC Security License.
- Valid Loss Prevention Certifications (CPP, PCI, LPC, and/or CSS) are strong assets.
- Wicklander-Zulawski (WZ) Certification in interviewing and interrogation techniques is highly preferred.
- Proficient with MS Office Suite.
- Previous security experience in a warehouse environment is required.
- Prior experience leading teams is essential.
- Flexibility to work after hours if needed to respond to urgent situations.
- Proficiency in English (spoken, written, and electronic communication).
- Willingness to attend meetings and training to improve skills.
- Knowledgeable in safety processes and procedures.
- Personal vehicle required for site attendance.
