The Centre for Teaching & Learning provides leadership in educational excellence through supporting and inspiring transformative and inclusive teaching and learning at the University of Toronto Scarborough. We do this by:
Engaging with all students, individually and through course support and other learning initiatives, to enhance foundational skills required for coursework and beyond.
Advising and collaborating with all instructors and staff to support an interactive community of scholarly teaching excellence, inquiry, and innovation.
Leading and collaborating on educational technologies and active learning spaces, which are responsive to the changing needs of our instructors and students.
Building bridges and leveraging relationships with other partners and communities to support pedagogical research, encourage current and lifelong learning, and deepen CTL's impact and influence across academic programming at UTSC.
We are recruiting for an Educational Developer, Assessment and Online Learning to provide expertise with a scholarly and evidence-based approach, and improve the learning experience of students and the teaching experience of educators. You will report to the Manager, Educational Innovation & Academic Initiatives. Your contribution will enhance the pedagogical practices at the University of Toronto Scarborough. You will have an opportunity to collaborate with multiple stakeholders to develop instructional design plans involving educational technologies. The Educational Developer, Assessment and Online Learning will advise faculty and staff on the innovative use of instructional technologies to support teaching, learning and research, especially for online and hybrid/blended courses. Your position is an essential resource for the Centre of Teaching & Learning at UTSC.
Your responsibilities will include:
Developing and implementing components of instructional programs.
Developing instructional design plans for use in teaching contexts involving educational technologies.
Planning and overseeing the implementation of an evaluation framework for assigned projects.
Conducting detailed analysis and evaluation to inform program planning activities.
Advising instructors on strategies for developing and delivering curriculum.
Analyzing needs and recommending appropriate technologies for teaching/learning goals.
Developing content for instructional workshops.
Facilitating educational workshops and seminars.
Master's degree in education, with a concentration in higher education; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum five (5) years of experience in educational development and/or instructional design and educational technologies.
Excellent understanding of remote learning principles for fostering inclusive pedagogy.
Demonstrated experience with university-level instruction, program planning, curriculum development, and faculty development.
Demonstrated understanding of effective strategies for integrating learner-centered accessible technologies into post-secondary courses.
Strong ability to support the innovative use of instructional technologies for teaching, learning and research.
Demonstrated engagement in the scholarship of teaching and learning (through publications and presentations).
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Excellent facilitation and presentation skills.
Proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications, common Learning Management Systems, and multi-media technologies.

Appointment Type: Budget - Continuing
Pay Scale Group and Hiring Rate: USW Pay Band 14 - $78,618 with an annual step progression to a maximum of $100,542. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
