Job Summary

The Yard Hand is primarily responsible for helping the Shop Lead Man and field foreman. This position is responsible for effectively providing day-to-day support; ensuring work is performed smoothly and efficiently; safety procedures are followed and project requirements are met in an efficient, timely manner. The successful candidate will have working knowledge of API 650 & 653 tanks; read blueprints well and experience working with Microsoft Office applications.

Primary Responsibilities

Aid Shop Lead Hand with schedules and milestones for each shop floor project. Coordinate workload and scheduling for the safest and most efficient use of equipment, space, and manpower.
Work with Shop Lead Hand to track production time to ensure shop floor projects are on target to meet established production deadlines and schedules.
Work closely with and provide information/support to Operations (Project Managers), Planning and Scheduling, Estimating, QA/QC, and Shipping and Receiving functions.
Work closely with Project Managers and Shop Lead Hand with procurement of materials.
Regular and reliable attendance is required in performance of this job.
Assist QC with building turnover packages, sorting MTR's, welder qualifications etc.
Employee may be required to perform additional duties as assigned.

3- 5+ years of related weld shop experience
The ability to read blueprints is a must
The ideal candidate must have strong knowledge of the industry; specifically structural shapes, piping and fittings, material grades etc.
Strong knowledge of API 650 & 653 tanks.
Experience working with Microsoft Office is an asset; Excel, Word and Outlook specifically
Strong organizational skills, the ability to multi-task and attention to detail are critical
Satisfactory driving record
